Tampered Press has unveiled the official cover for its highly anticipated Issue 9, set for release on April 28.
Drawing inspiration from the storytelling traditions of 1990s Ghanaian cinema, where films often unfolded in multiple instalments and resisted tidy conclusions.
Tampered indicated that the upcoming issue embraces themes of continuity, memory, and return.
Much like those films, the works featured in this edition linger within unresolved spaces, exploring inheritance, longing, and the enduring possibility of continuation.
Issue 9 brings together the voices of 14 writers from across Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, and South Sudan, spanning fiction, nonfiction, and poetry.
The cover, illustrated by Partikles, draws directly from the characters and scenes within the issue. It is rendered in a style reminiscent of classic 90s Ghanaian film posters.
Preorders for the issue are now open, with readers able to access early copies ahead of the official release. A 15% discount is available for early supporters who use the code “EARLYWORM” before April 20.
