Emerging Ghanaian writer Benjamin Cyril Arthur is receiving international recognition as his poem ‘Dear Daniel’ airs on BBC Upload Radio.

Arthur, who posts as @cyril_arthur_ on Instagram, made a post with the declaration: ‘In July he’s a poet.’ The post announced that the piece would be broadcast on Thursday and Saturday nights at 18:00 on BBC Sounds.
Speaking to Creatives Gh, he noted that the ‘[the poem] was written for the LGBTQIA+ community in Ghana who are struggling because of the anti-LGBT bill’.
A graduate of the University of Cape Coast with a degree in English and Linguistics, and currently studying an MA in Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia, Arthur is a multifaceted creative working as a writer, photographer, and activist.
