The Caine Prize for African Writing, in partnership with Pa Gya! Literary Festival and the British Council, is inviting emerging and established writers to apply for a three-day self-editing workshop in Accra.
The workshop, scheduled for October 14–16, 2026, will be held at the British Council on Liberia Road, Accra, with support from the Open Society Foundations.
The hands-on programme will focus on helping writers develop the critical skills needed to revise their work to publication standard. Sessions will cover structural editing, line editing and language, understanding how editors read, and preparing work for submission.
Organisers are particularly interested in literary fiction that explores social justice themes. Applicants must submit a writing sample and details of a work-in-progress, which may be a short story, novel or essay.
Up to 15 writers will be selected to participate. Attendance is free, but selected participants must commit to all three days and actively participate in the workshop.
